Melissa received her B.A. from Smith College, Northampton, Massachusetts, where she majored in Government. She was a member of Service Organizations of Smith, where she volunteered as a tutor to children in the community. She also served as Sophomore Class Representative and was a member of the Smith College Glee Club. While earning her J.D. from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law in Cleveland, Ohio, she served as secretary for the Women's Law Caucus. She was also a member of the Delta Theta Phi Law Fraternity.
Prior to joining Soles Law Offices, Melissa worked for various general practice law firms, most recently with a firm focused in estate planning. She also served as a guardian ad litem for the Cuyahoga County GAL Project, where she represented the interests of children in abuse and neglect situations. She also has volunteered her time and services with Wills for Heroes, which provides essential legal documents free of charge to Summit County’s first responders, including wills, living wills and powers of attorney.
Melissa resides in North Canton, Ohio, with her husband, Jeff, and their children, Maria and David. Melissa enjoys singing in the choir at The Chapel in North Canton. She also enjoys traveling, cooking, reading, scrapbooking and volunteering her time at Plain Local Schools.
